Ride-kun was born to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Kanazawa Library.
Out of a total of 962 entries, the name was "Kanazawa Ride" in connection with "Reading a book".
The feeling of leading Kanazawa Library in the future is also included.
Currently, as a mascot of the Kanazawa Library, he is active in the library and in public relations.

History of past activities
- December 2010 / The name has been decided.
- January 2011: Rido-kun corner was opened in the elementary school studenｔ room.
- January-February 2012, July-September / Coloring paintings were distributed and displayed at the Rido-kun corner.
