Change of PIN for My Number Card

Overview

The four PINs set on My Number Card can be changed freely. (If you can enter your current PIN)
※If you do not know the currently set PIN, you will need to reset your PIN. For details on the resetting procedure, see the page on resetting your PIN on your My Number Card.

How to check your computer at home

You can change your PIN via the Internet using your home computer. In addition to the PC and Internet connection environment, an IC card reader / writer and user client software are required.

※From January 2017, it has become possible to use the public personal authentication service by connecting to a personal computer instead of an IC card reader / writer using the reader / writer mode of the smartphone. You can change your PIN via the Internet using a smartphone (OS: Android) that supports My Number Card. In this case, user client software is required along with a smartphone (OS: Android) and an Internet connection environment that supports My Number Card.

Change in ward office Family Registry Division where you live

The ward office Family Registry Division of your ward will also be able to change your PIN.

If you are going to do so

Please bring my number card. After confirming the currently set PIN, set a new PIN.

When legal representative City Procedures (If the person changing the PIN is under 15 years old, an adult ward)

What you need

  • My Number Card for the person who changes the PIN
  • One identification document such as a driver's license and qualification with a face photo issued by a public office in legal representative's
  • Documents confirming proxy rights
    • If you are under 15: family register's Certificate of All matters (certificate of family register
      ※Those who have permanent domicile is not required. Also, if you can confirm that you are a legal representative if it can be confirmed as a resident certificate.
    • If you are an adult ward: Certificate of Registration for Adult Guardianship

When an Optional proxy/agent

After receiving the application, we will mail the document to the person who changes the PIN and confirm the new PIN (document inquiry).
Please note that the procedure will not be completed on the day of application. For more information, please contact our ward office Family Registry Division, please.

  • My Number Card for the person who changes the PIN
  • Optional proxy/agent's identity verification document (Identity verification document without a face photo is acceptable)

  • My Number Card for the person who changes the PIN
  • One identification document such as a driver's license or qualification with a face photo issued by a public office in proxy/agent

  • Power of Attorney (There is an entry field in the answer sheet)
