Method of displaying house

Last update date April 30, 2020

1.I'll decide the new name.

We respect the existing town name.
When adding a new town name, avoid the town name that is already in the city or confusing town names, and make it a venerable one (character name, etc.) and easy-to-understand and friendly town name.
The kanji for the name of the town is common use kanji.

2.Make the border of the town easier to understand.

The boundaries of the town are bordered by permanent facilities such as roads, rivers, railways, and the size of the town will be one town with an appropriate size. [Approximately 40,000 tsubo (0.132km2) to 50,000 tsubo (0.165km2) in residential areas. ]
To make Address easy to understand, it does not necessarily match the Neighborhood Associations area.

3.We divide the town into several sections.

Divide the town into several blocks (blocks) by roads, waterways, etc., and numbers (numbers) in order.
Yokohama City attaches a "block display board" to places that are easy to see, such as the corners of the block.
[The size of the block is about 1000 tsubo (3,000m2) to 1500 tsubo (5,000m2). ]

4.Give your house number (No. ##)

The area around the block is divided into regular intervals (about 10m in principle) and the basic number is assigned in order.
The "House number" is determined by which base number the entrance from the building is.
Even if the house is next to each other, the number may leave if the doorway is far away. Conversely, if the entrance is close, the same number may be the same.
If you live, we ask that you install a "town name plate" and "house number display board" distributed from Yokohama City in places that are easy to see from roads such as entrances and gateposts.
