With business of the 150th anniversary

Technique, culture, people came to gather from home and abroad as overseas window, and Yokohama that was small village continued developing till then around port, and current big city Yokohama was built by the opening of a port of July 1, 1859 (old calendar June 2, 1859).
Commemorative projects such as establishment of song of city or construction of commemorative facility have been performed in commemoration of this opening of a port in the opening of a port 50th anniversary, year of turning point called the opening of a port 100th anniversary.
And Yokohama-shi carried out various commemorative projects that the whole Yokohama-shi appreciated achievements of port and ancient people and did the opening of a port 150th anniversary of 2009 with town where Yokohama overflowed in dream and hope and opportunity when it was.

Business mascot character "tanemaru" of the 150th anniversary of the Yokohama opening of a port

"tanemaru" is spirit of "tree in courtyard of the opening of a port museum of tamakusu". Of history that watched Yokohama all the time since Japan opened a country 150 years ago, and "tree of tamakusu" opened a port grow, and is witness.

We receive various culture and bring up, and Yokohama that greatly grew up picks up new "seed of power" on "tanemaru" and, in 2009, does "start on a voyage" towards the world.

Design of character "tanemaru" of image that bud grew was chosen by open call for participants from the whole country by kind in boat. Open call for participants determined "tanemaru of nickname, too".

In "mirai", thought for Yokohama that is "hometown" where "citron" was born and raised is put.

Yokohama citizen participated in recording of chorus and was released single as coupling music of "we want to meet" on April 22.

"Commemorative ceremony original show" and commemorative theme event "foundation of a country Expo Y150" were various scenes including "Yokohama, Kanagawa destination campaign", and theme song "mirai" was used and heaped up the opening of a port 150th anniversary.
