School zone
The school zone is a method in which elementary schools are considered as the core of local traffic safety activities in order to protect children from traffic accidents, and local residents and administrative organizations work together to promote safe town planning and environment creation. .
School zone range
In general, the school zone is set as a school zone of approximately 500 meters, including the school road, mainly for elementary schools, but depending on the actual conditions of children's living, traffic volume, traffic accidents, local conditions, etc. The range of 500 meters or more can be covered.
School zone countermeasures council
It is set up for each school and consists of schools, PTAs, Neighborhood Association Neighborhood Associations, and administrative agencies. Inspection of dangerous spots, signs, guardrails, roads, etc. in the school zone, provide traffic safety guidance when going to and from school, and discuss traffic safety issues and issues.
Administrative agencies such as police department, Public Works Office and ward offices will implement necessary measures in accordance with the following standards:

Hodogaya Ward School Zone Promotion Organization Grant
An organization formed to prevent traffic accidents in the school zone in Hodogaya Ward. It is composed of representatives of PTA, Neighborhood Associations, Women's Association, youth groups, etc. in the area. Subsidizes some of the expenses required for group activities. The maximum amount of the grant is 20,000 yen per year, and the submitted documents will be reviewed to determine the grant amount.
