External Audit System

Yokohama City introduced an external audit system (Article 252-227 of the Local Government Act) in April 1999. The external audit system is a system in which a private expert is audited as an auditor to strengthen the audit function. These include comprehensive external audits and individual external audits.

Comprehensive external audits

For the financial affairs of Yokohama City and those that Yokohama City provides financial assistance, an external auditor determines the audit theme and conducts audits.　Page of Comprehensive External Audit Results

Individual External Audits

In audits based on requests or requests, such as residents' audit requests, audits by an external auditor can be requested instead of an audit by an audit committee member.
