We pushed forward earthquake resistance of facility sequentially until now, but, at Nishiya water purification plant, there is problem in deterioration and quake resistance now in filtration ponds. Therefore, we will push forward earthquake resistance of these facilities in future and carry out redevelopment including introduction of clean water disposal method suitable for the Haramizu quality of the water.
In addition to clean water processing facility, we gathered summary of basic plan of redevelopment which related facilities such as basic design development of the adjacent Yokohama Channel Memorial included.
Because we have problem in deterioration and quake resistance in some facilities, at Nishiya water purification plant, we examine redevelopment. On the other hand, in clean water processing, we inject powder activated carbon as odor measures due to algae increase in Sagamiko of water source, but it is stable, and there is in the situation that it is difficult to process when the quality of the water particularly suddenly fluctuates.
Based on such situation, we pushed forward examination about introduction of appropriate clean water disposal method depending on the water source quality of the water and, as one, started collaborative investigation with private enterprise about granular activated carbon processing from 2011 and tested proof for introduction.
Furthermore, we installed "Nishiya water purification plant clean water disposal method study meeting" composed of outside well-informed people in December, 2012 and pushed forward examination while demanding opinions from specialized knowledge.
About the most suitable clean water disposal method to introduce into Nishiya water purification plant, we gathered result that we examined so far as report.
